HI, I'M MARNIE
I haven’t done most things the way it is ‘supposed’ to be done. There is no white picket fence around my house or life. Two failed marriages. Multiple career changes. I’ve always been a bit of a gypsy. All judgeable offenses I’ve been told. And for a long time, I believed it.
I’ve always seen the world in a different way. Never understood the status quo or the “one size fits all” mentality. Whatever exists in one’s DNA that allows you to fit in and be normal, I must have been absent the day it was handed out.
I grew up in churches that were one step away from snake handling. I had a sense of something bigger going on in life, something unseen, but for me it didn’t match this thing called god. For starters there was too much control, conformity and judgment which absolutely made no sense.
But I tried. Oh did I try. Gold star seeker. First prize winner. People pleaser and perfectionist of magnitude. Went to church. Taught Bible school. Maybe if I could fit myself into what others said was appropriate and valuable, things would make sense and I would not feel so uncomfortably different. I did okay for a while, or at least it appeared that way to others. What they didn’t know was that I was miserable, unhappy and depressed. All the time. Checked out. The walking dead.
That girl, whom I have come to cherish and adore rather than judge, is no longer recognizable to me. I wake up every single day happy. Not just a little bit happy. Happy happy! I have a gentleman in my life that is a gift in every way. I enjoy watching my three sons creating their lives and choosing what works for them and I give myself the same permission.
The journey from depressed, people-pleasing, gold star seeking, guilt addict is packed with gifts, awareness and the tools that I have used to truly live. Through classes, workshops, articles, books and Breakthrough Sessions, I offer all of this to you.
You are the only one strong enough to stop you. You are the only one who can set you free. What do you desire in and as your life? Your past need not define your future. It is never too late to start!
BUSINESS
The first 20 years of my career was all over the place. Early Childhood Center Director, Leadership Trainer, Keynote Speaker, Life Coach, General Manager of a commercial cleaning company and Technical Recruiter Manager to mention a few.
People and project management is something I have excelled in. The credit for that goes to the children that I have had the privilege to work with. I like to say, “Everything I learned about management came from teaching preschool.” It’s true.
Today, it’s still eclectic. Ghostwriter/writer, Facilitator of Workshops and Breakthrough Sessions and Content Creator. The key ingredient in all of it is FUN!

ADVENTURES
Living life in such a way that every day is a holiday and every meal a banquet.
MY LOVER
A 10 minute conversation at a restaurant bar in Houston has led to co-creating a life, a space, an adventure soaked in a kindness, nurture and support I did not know could exist between 2 people.
The likelihood of the events of that day landing us in the same place at the same time for those 10 minutes was next to impossible and yet here we are. There certainly is something to that ask and receive thing! If you would like to hear the story, you can listen here:
